FAITH - MY CENTER
I will be the first to admit how hard life can be at times; with the stresses of financial struggles, health challenges, family responsibilities, demanding career deadlines, and relationship troubles. The good thing is, none of us are alone. "Do not fear: I am with you; Do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." (Isaiah: 41:10) "..for God, all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
FAMILY/FRIENDS - LEARN, ACT, SHARE, INSPIRE
Life is about the relationships we build, the love that fills us, the memories we create, and the moments we cherish. In my new adventures, I look forward to meeting new people, learning, growing, helping others, and having FUN along the way!! :) We have all stumbled and fallen at one time or another; through prayer and sharing we deepen our understanding. "Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a treasure. (Sirach 6:14) "...Love your neighbor as you love yourself." (Luke 10:27)
FINANCES - GROW AND GIVE
Money provides us opportunities. I probably along with many, learned about credit and managing a household budget from my mistakes. What I want to share with parents especially with young ones, a teenager, or a young newlywed couple reading this, "START EARLY, START SMART". Search for free services or classes within your church or community. "The generous will be blessed, for they share their food with the poor." (Proverbs 22:9) "...for a person will reap, only what he sows.."(Galatians 6:7)
FITNESS - "HAVE FUN, GET HEALTHY"
I do not spend hours and hours at the gym or live on strict diets. I am not a skinny certified person in any way to tell you or advise you on any aspect of your life. Always consult your physician or family for guidance. To me, being FIT means being healthy in mind, body and spirit, which includes, having peace with myself and with others, living each day with appreciation and gratitude, loving God, an amount of physical activity per day according to cdc.gov, enjoying time with family and friends, and LAUGHING OFTEN. "Train yourself for devotion, for while physical training is of limited value, devotion is valuable in every respect, since it holds a promis of life, both for the present and for the future." (1 Timothy 4:8) So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees. (Hebrews 12:12)
FOOD - TAKING CARE OF OUR BODY
As we all know, celebrations are almost always surrounded by food. My husband and I both love to eat, cook and bake for our kids, families, and friends; However, with both of us having been on the obese side, have struggled with lower energy and health issues, we decided to start educating ourselves about what we put into our bodies. So far the journey has been quite surprising, a little disturbing and abundantly beneficial. We have quickly realized the truth in this saying, "You are what you EAT!" It is amazing the impact that certain foods have on our body and even our moods. I will soon share more. "See, I give you every seed-bearing plant on all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food." (Genesis 1:29) Any living creature that mves about, shall be yours to eat; (Genesis 9:3) ..glorify God in your body." (1 Corinthians 6:20)
FUN - HAVE PLENTY
I am a HAPPY wife, mother, daughter, college student, sister, aunt, and friend who ENJOYS LIFE TO ITS FULLEST!! My husband will be the first to tell you that I have always been the busy body with the longest to do list who refuses to STOP once in a while to take a breath. After having cancer, a stroke, and five surgeries between October 2011 and January 2012, I am happy to share that I have LEARNED to PRAY MORE and PLAY MORE, MEDITATE, REST, EAT BETTER and have more FUN. :) "A cheerful glance brings joy to the heart;" (Proverbs 15:30) "A joyful heart is the health of the body, but a depressed spirit dries up the bones." (Proverbs 17:22)
As it has been said, "laughter IS the BEST medicine," so I say, "PLAY MORE, LAUGH MORE."
